It's Been Surreal

"You can swear real life is always this geeky, this intense, this strange and yet awesome; it’s the day jobs and the commuting, the chores and responsibilities that aren’t the real things, at least, not the things that matter." I think you've just perfectly described the euphoria that comes with these conventions (and departs just as Con Crash sets in.)

I'm glad to hear that you had a good time, panel debacles notwithstanding. I completely agree with your assessment of their organizational failures, but this is neither the time nor the place for me to lament NYCC's poor structure. This is, though, at least partially. (https://witwar.wordpress.com/2011/10/19/6-things-i-learned-at-new-york-comic-con-2011/) At least Tamora Pierce is pretty good as silver linings go. If her works are even half as amazing as you say, I'll bump them to the top of my reading list.

I noticed that your recap didn't mention Sunday's NYCC Speed Dating event. Were you able to attend? If so, how did it go?
